Dux Britanniarum

Postby NickB » Mon May 20, 2013 3:27 pm

I am the proud owner of Dux Britaniarum, from the Two Fat Lardies.

For those that don't know, this is a Dark ages skirmish campaign. Each side starts of with ~30 figures, including 3 nobles that have a history rolled up for them. As battles are fought, warbands grow according to the loot gained or the magnitude of the threat. I am planning to play this in 15mm -- I have the figures for both sides (post Roman British and Saxons).

Would anyone be interested in a Dux Britaniarum campaign?

New expansion about to be released for this Nick titled "The Raiders" and includes the Picts Scotti and Irish.
Info is hard to find but the big Meeple covers both it and At the Sharp End (CoC campaign supplement) in his latest podcast review.

Cant recall a great deal about it now but remeber be interested when Lardies were first putting it together.
From memory it was a real narrative focused game with a strong focus on campaign elements.
Scale wise 28mm would likely be my preference in keeping with my SAGA and M & T terrain when I finally get around to working on it.

I have both forces in 15mm. Though I now have troops in 28mm that I can paint up. If anyone is interested in starting a campaign, we can easily start in 15mm and switch as I get troops painted! Or we could wait till the new supplement is out -- though I'm not sure if it introduces a multiplayer aspect yet.

I will have a read tonight (Rob's dropping the book in today!) and we can get something sorted.
Happy to play 15's whilst slaving away on 28's :)

Play test report of the upcoming Raiders expansion.
Looks like Easter is the targeted release date at this stage.
Irish look cool :)

Out of interest Nick what forces do you have in 28's?
Just browsing the Gripping Beast 28mm Arthurian range and some look really nice.
I need to get the odd figure or two to round out my SAGA forces and might add a couple of starter armies for Dux into the deal.
For example!

I have the figures I picked up from Ben. I haven't sorted them out yet, so I don't know exactly what I have -- but there are definitely Romano-Brits in there!
