What about 1250 fow (or 1000 if you prefer).
If we go 1000 I think we should be book specific as US tank list's from overlord won't have much fun against
Remagen Faust toting sausage munchers !

1250 is fine. You can pick -- Normandy, Markey Garden, Bulge, or Remagen. Also, you may pick axis or allies. I think I may have enough troops to build an army :)

It got quite vicious, but at 1250 points it's hard to design a list that can both attack and defend in all scenarios, I got a 6-1 in hold the line without needing reserves ( I had 7 plt down to 6 with cbt attachments). Quite sure the scoreline would have been reversed if I had won ! the roll off to attack.

My list.
29th infantry Div.(out of overlord) CT

Hq.2 carbine / 2 zooks
1. Inf plt. Full, upgrade to pioneers
2. Inf plt. Full upgrade to pioneers
3. Hmg plt. 4 hmg 2 zooks
4. Recce plt 4 jeeps
5. Assault gun plt 3 Sherman 105
6. Tank plt 5 m4 Shermans
7. Fab 4 105 howitzers

- Warrior Hauptman Karl-Heinz Noak (250 pts)

Compulsory Jagdpanther Platoon (p.137) - Command Jagdpanther (early), Jagdpanther (early) (460 pts)

Grenadier Anti-tank Gun Platoon (p.143) - Command SMG, 2x 7.5cm PaK40 gun (80 pts)
- Kfz 15 field car, Kfz 70 truck per gun (5 pts)

Grenadier Platoon (p.141) - Command Rifle/MG, 6x Rifle/MG (120 pts)
- Upgrade Command Rifle/MG to Command Panzerfaust SMG (10 pts)

Grenadier Platoon (p.141) - Command Rifle/MG, 6x Rifle/MG (120 pts)
- Upgrade Command Rifle/MG to Command Panzerfaust SMG (10 pts)


1245 Points, 4 Platoons


At lower point totals the Jagdpanthers don't have the artillery that they need to dig out the infantry!!! On the other hand, if Rob had to attack, I would have picked off his tanks with ease, and then his infantry would have had to assault tanks with a hero -- so the game was really decided on the attack roll!!!!! (Or, I chose a poor list for 1250, and we could have had a better game if I had gone with a Stug Batterie)

Interesting! sounds like 1250 could make for some very interesting games where list development is a real challenge!

Exactly -- this is why I like 1250 or 1500. At higher point totals, you can do everything, and list building is less challenging. At lower point totals you cant answer everything, so you need to select a lot of dual purpose troops that can 'make do'.
