Hi all, it'll sound like I'm being paid by these guys but its really just that I love the figures and the idea behind the game...
Anyway, I am building an arena for Arena Deathmatch and once that is done I plan to start painting my own band.
Now next year I'll be down for mid semester break and thought if people were keen to give the game a go and wanted to paint some figures for a band I could run a little painting comp to act as incentive.
So basically the goal would be to assemble and paint a band for Arena Deathmatch, any legal band for, lets say a 500pt game.
That's around 4-5 models and the perfect size for the size arena I am working on, so I'll bring the board down and people can have some games with their new band on the board (or if anyone else wants to build one...).
So you would need to pick a band and start painting models that appropriately approximate the existing models that the game supports. That doesn't mean I want you to use only avatar of war models, I'd be expecting mostly minis from other companies in fact...
So, who likes the idea?? |

Hi Sam, count me in for starters. I have been admiring these sculpts for a while now and this will be a good prod for me securing and painting a few. I have had a look through the core rules and it does indeed seem like a good system. Love the idea of a quality modeled and painted arena to run them in Hopefully they continue to expand the range and it takes off a bit. |

Hey Shane, only just noticed that this had a reply! I'm not sure there will be enough interest in the comp at this stage, you ARE the only one who has posted anything here since the first post in November after all...
Still, it'd be a nice little challenge I think, bit different to other comps because the models are quite flexible, you don't need to stick to one race in ADM so the bands could be quite diverse, though that would pose extra challenges in the painting to tie the models in together somehow...
500pts is soon spent also, you'd be looking at a max of around 5 models I'd think, unless you had an all Goblin band...
I have to say I am really enjoying painting the goblin, if all their models are as easy to paint as he is then I'll soon have a band done (pending affording the miniatures). I'd love to be able to game with them against bands from Tassie through the year!
its late and I should be sleeping, damned Sudanese callers waking me.... |
